I heard a woman on KJR Radio here in Seattle the other day talking about the effort to get a stadium built in Seattle say something to the tune of “It’s not just for NBA, we need a top notch facility for concerts. Seattle doesn’t have one, and we deserve one.” (quote not exactly word for word).

No. That’s BULLSHIT.

Seattle doesn’t deserve a damn thing.

We want a nice new stadium? Pay for it. Can’t pay for it with our own money? Go find investors, build a community of supporters, talk to local business leaders. Get it funded somehow.

But don’t tell me for a second that “we deserve it”. That’s a crock of shit.

We deserve nothing. Earn everything.

There are no free handouts in life.
