I’m a little late to the party but I finally read theĀ Why Every Social Media Manager Should Be Under 25 article that gathered so much attention.
I don’t want to comment on the post, but rather touch on the Facebook commenting system used by the site. I read the post, got to the comments, and scrolled down to see the following..
Even though there are over 400 comments on the article, all the comments on the first page were threads from people I know – Jay Thompson, Kristy Bolsinger, Derek Overbey, Debra Trappen, and Jonathan Dalton. Now, I’m interested in comments from everyone — but they made the correct assumption that I care more about the comments from people I already know and chose to highlight those first. Turns out those Facebook people know a thing or two about social preferences…
Maybe I’ll rethink my reliance on Disqus.
