I highly recommend reading Fred Wilson’s post about writing.

Particularly in a time where everyone is producing some sort of online content on a daily basis, I firmly believe that great writing is the best way to stand out from the online pack and advance your career. Anyone can write crap, and there is certainly a LOT of crap on the internet, but great writers are extremely RARE. I happen to know a few of them very well — Diane Tuman, Kris Berg, and Sloane Berrent being at the top of the list. Want to be as good as they are? Get your butt in your chair and start the quest for reaching 10,000 hours of writing time (note Malcolm Gladwell’s 10,000 hour rule from Outliers).
