I 100% agree with this article. Square is going to kill the competition and move way beyond simple payments.

Everyone I speak to hates PayPal, but it’s all that’s out there in the way of widely adopted payment system. It’s very hard to scale to a point where you are a must-have account, but PayPal is there since everyone else uses it already.

Even if people didn’t hate PayPal already, being in Square’s way over the next few years as they move to being a must have for a small business is not going to be fun. But, particularly for those who make the majority of their money online, it will be fun to watch from the outside 🙂
