I just started Relentless: From Good to Great to Unstoppable
(amazon affiliate link). The book is written by Tim Grover, the trainer for, among other people, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant (my thoughts on Kobe vs Jordan). Point being, Grover knows what he’s talking about. There were two quotes within the first few pages I wanted to share quickly:
If you’re relentless, there is no halfway, no could or should or maybe. Don’t tell me the glass is half-full or half-empty; you either have something in the glass or you don’t.
Decide. Commit. Act. Succeed. Repeat.
and
Success isn’t the same as talent. The world is full of incredibly talented people who never succeed at anything. They show up, do what they do, and if it doesn’t work out, they blame everyone else because they believe talent should be enough. It’s not. If you want to be truly successful, you can’t be content with “good enough.” You need to find an extra gear.
