Here’s a quote by Herbert Bayard Swope, a journalist and winner of the 1st Pulitzer Prize in 1917, that might get you thinking–

I can’t give you a surefire formula for success, but I can give you a formula for failure: try to please everybody all the time.

Over the past several years, I’ve definitely realized you can’t please everybody, so there’s not much use trying. Sometimes it’s hard to say no to people, but it has to be done from time to time if you want to accomplish your own goals.
